Left to Right: Design in the 1700's, Through the Trees
I took this photo when I was on a drive with my grandma. This is the Vanderhorst Plantation, which I've only ever seen from a distance. This particular time, however, the gates were open. We were able to drive right up and I got some lovely photos. I tried to keep the whole house in the frame. I tried to zoom in but even though we were close, it was hard because my good lens wasn't on my camera. These photos convey an almost fantasy-like feeling for me, because it's a very old house that has a long history.

These two photos I took when I was in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. We were at King Street Grille with my cousins, aunts, mother, and grandma. I noticed the unique architecture on the outside of the resturaunt. My grandma and I went outside while we were waiting for the food and that's when I took these. I am trying to convey an almost surreal feeling with these photos. I took them from a slightly upward angle to make the building seem larger than it is.
When I was in South Carolina, I took these photos. I took this on a historical location that has been there for centuries. South Carolina is my favorite state so I am glad to have been able to travel down to see them. I tried to position myself so that the tree wasn't in front of the building but it was impossible for me because I was stuck inside a moving vehicle. Nevertheless, I think the tree adds a touch of character. These photos portray a sense of longing. From the rusting roof to the old style, it makes me feel longing.
I took these photos on a stroll downtown. It was a bright and sunny day. Even though it was a little chilly, these photos bring back memories of a good day for me. I took the photos from interesting angles because I wasn't able to get far enough back to take the photos from a wide perspective that showed the whole entire building. These photos convey emotions that put things in perspective; the upward angle of the building in the photo on the left makes me feel small.
These photos were also taken by me when I was downtown. I found an unfinished building and it made me curious. I took the first photo from a straight view. Though I think the reflections add character, I wasn't that big of a fan of it. That's why I photographed the windows in the second picture from an angle. These photos give a sense of unfinished business. They convey the emotion of mystery, because we don't know what kind of building it will become when it is finished.
