From left to right: West End (Film Grain), Family Life, London Life (Dry Brush), Only One (Rough Pastels)
This is a very meaningful still life. My family used to live in England when my brother was a baby. It makes up a big part of my parents' life and they have countless memories from living there. I made a still life that represents the times they had. The photo album is one of many that my parents made throughout our childhood. I opened it to a page with my brother and my dad on it. The red bus is one that they purchased at Harrods, which is a famous store in London. Lastly, I placed a London taxi cab there since it is one of the main methods of transportation where they lived. I enjoyed using the filters on these photos because I thought that it made them more creative and interesting. The stripes on my photo titled Only One were made from the screen on the big window that the photos were taken in front of. I think it adds texture and pattern to what otherwise would have been a plain picture. The shadow from my backdrop creates interesting blue light shapes, which also came from the natural light. I think it adds a nice pop of color. It's very important to document things through photography. It helps the memory stay clear in your mind and I think that we are very fortunate to be able to use photography in this unique and helpful way.
